Sr. Bioinformatics Engineer

Research Interests and Accomplishments

Jason Inman is a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer in the Informatics Department at the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI).  He has been at The Institute since 2005. He has worked in Data Support, Eukaryotic Annotation, and Prokaryotic Annotation.

Before joining the Institute, Mr. Inman was at The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Laboratory of Genetics as a contractor with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC-Frederick). It was there that his interests turned towards bioinformatics while managing the lab’s collection of hundreds of thousands of samples and operating large scale robotics.

Mr. Inman earned his M.S in Bioinformatics (’11) and M.S. in Biotechnology (’02) from Johns Hopkins University, and his B.S. in Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) from James Madison University.
