Brassicaceae Genomics

Overview

The JCVI Plant Genomics Group is involved in several collaborative projects to generate genomic sequence data from Brassica, a genus of plants in the mustard family Brassicaceae (e.g. cabbage, oilseed, broccoli, cauliflower). We are conducting comparative genomic analysis of three species - Brassica oleracea, Brassica rapa and Brassica napus, which will help us better understand plant genome evolution and to analyze the genetic control of important traits in Brassica crops. We are also participating in an initiative to fully sequence the genome of Brassica oleracea TO1000.
